I had a feeling that trying to create yet another nursery – making it girly yet different than her sister’s room – would be a challenge. And I was correct. The first piece I found for Sutton’s nursery was this dresser/changing topper which was a collab between PBK and West Elm. I feel in love and ordered it last November. With shipping delays and furniture taking forever, it ended up arriving 2 weeks before Suttons arrival- damaged. 🙂 Thankfully, it was not anything we couldn’t deal with and they reordered us a new one which just arrived in September.
I wanted everything to go with this dresser so incorporated a white crib which can be transitioned to a toddler or full bed when ready. This room was originally all white and I knew I wanted some sort of accent wall for the crib to contrast against so I chose Sherwin-Williams Sea Salt and after a few coats, it turned out perfect. After finding the crib sheet from Caden Lane, I decided I wanted to add in those neutral tones. The white, gold, and wood accent tones compliment Nolyn’s room but in a different way which I just love!
We moved the chair from Nolyn’s room and replaced it with her Nugget couch. This is also the same rug we have in Nolyn’s room just in a smaller size which works since the room is smaller. I actually bought this size first for Nolyn’s room and when it was too small, ordered a bigger size and this one has been in our “then” guest bedroom ever since. It works perfect!
Most of the decor in Sutton’s room came straight from Hobby Lobby or Ikea which I can’t link but they had a lot of options to bring in the wooden, white, and gold tones. I originally bought the nesting baskets from Target and they are great for hiding toys to keep Nolyn occupied while feeding Sutton or for Sutton to grow into. Overall, this is another one of my favorite rooms in the house and I cannot wait to watch Sutton grow into it.
